About Fleet Services Division

The Fleet Services Division manages King County's portfolio of vehicles and equipment. The team performs acquisition, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of approximately 3,000 fleet assets for the County's services associated with the Sheriff's Office, Public Health, Roads, Parks, Wastewater, Water and Land Resources, and other agencies. The division manages two maintenance shops which include robust storerooms of automotive parts, materials, and construction supplies as well as several technicians working in the field to support remote customer sites.

In addition, the Fleet Division is responsible for the disposition of the county's personal property assets, which includes a surplus warehouse in Georgetown. Job Duties

Scope of Job Duties: The successful candidate at a minimum, must demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to:

  • Diagnose and repair all types of gas, diesel, and hybrid powered equipment, including, but not limited to, automobiles, heavy/light trucks, tractors, backhoes, street sweepers, wheel loaders, various off-road equipment, and trailers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair emergency response vehicle radios, light bars, and security device systems.
  • Perform gas and electric welding and fabrication on mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Operate mechanical and electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems.
  • Maintain service, maintenance, and repair records.
  • Modify and fabricate stock equipment to meet County needs.
  • Repair and maintain shop tools and machinery.
  • Provide technical assistance, direction, and advice to other workers, and give guidance on complex mechanical repair projects.
  • Interpret equipment repair manuals, electric and hydraulic schematics and illustrated parts diagrams.
  • Safely perform repairs in the field during inclement weather.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Demonstrate journey-level proficiency to work with industrial and heavy-duty equipment, hydraulic, powertrain, diesel and gasoline fuel, accessory and cooling systems.
  • Have knowledge of industrial and heavy equipment shop safety rules, procedures, and equipment. Understand technical terms used in light and heavy equipment repairs.
  • Are skilled in the use of electrical, electronic, hydraulic and mechanical test equipment and devices.
  • Are skilled in troubleshooting and repairing gas, diesel, and hybrid engines; transmissions; diesel fuel and engine-management systems; electrical systems, and radio, light bar, and security device systems.
  • Can diagnose and repair pneumatic systems, chassis systems, power-train systems and hydraulic systems.
  • Understand how to use diagnostic tools online or paper maintenance, repair and parts manuals to assist in maintenance and repair.
  • Are able to safely operate vehicles and equipment with onboard systems to test and troubleshoot for proper operation of integral or installed systems before and after maintenance.
  • Work independently and in a team environment. Are comfortable providing coaching, mentorship, and oversight to apprentices to perform technical tasks.
  • Can navigate office productivity software and operate and perform research on a computer. (The County uses Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)

Supplemental Information

Necessary Requirements: Successful candidates for this role must:

  • Possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver License and Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Able to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class N and Air Brake Endorsement is preferred and current Medical Card within 6 months of hire.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen: If you are a current CDL holder, as required by federal regulations, you must submit to drug testing and test negative for presence of controlled substances; sign a Consent Form for release of Information for each employer for the past three (3) years; and successfully pass a background check for Alcohol and Controlled Substances testing, and a CDL background information.

The typical work schedule for these positions is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Our shop operates from 5am to 5pm to best serve our customers. The Patient Services Coordinator-LPN is directly responsible for scheduling visits and communicating with field staff, patients, physicians, etc. to maintain proper care coordination and continuity of care. The role also assists with day-to-day office and staff management.

  • Manages schedules for all patients. Edits schedule for agents calling in sick, ensuring patients are reassigned timely. Updates agent unavailability in worker console.
  • Initiates infection control forms as needed, sends the HRD the completed "Employee Infection Report" to upload in the worker console.
  • Serves as back up during the lunch hour and other busy times including receiving calls from the field staff and assisting with weekly case conferences. Refers clinical questions to Branch Director as necessary.
  • Maintains the client hospitalization log, including entering coordination notes, and sending electronic log to all office, field, and sales staff.
  • Completes requested schedule as task appears on the action screen. Ensures staff are scheduled for skilled nurse/injection visits unless an aide supervisory visit is scheduled in conjunction with the injection visit.
  • Completes requested schedules for all add-ons and applicable orders:
    • Schedules discharge visit / OASIS Collection or recert visit following case conference when task appears on action screen.
    • Schedules TIF OASIS collection visits and deletes remaining schedule.
    • Reschedules declined or missed (if appropriate) visits.
    • Processes reassigned and rescheduled visits.
    • Ensures supervisory visits are scheduled.
  • Runs all scheduling reports including Agent Summary Report and Missed Visits Done on Paper Report.
  • Prepares weekly Agent Schedules. Performs initial review of weekly schedule for productivity / geographic issues and forwards schedule to Branch Director for approval prior to distribution to staff.
  • Verifies visit paper notes in scheduling console as needed.
  • Assists with internal transfer of patients between branch offices.
  • If clinical, receives lab reports and assesses for normality, fax a copy of lab to doctor, make a copy for the Case Manager, and route to Medical Records Department. Initiate Employee / Patient Infection Reports as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

Executes applicable promotions and new products based on target lists, monthly Look of Success (LOS) initiatives, marketing promotions, Point-Of-Sale, and commercial plans to ensure excellence in RED (Right Execution Daily) scores for assigned customers. Fills, merchandises, and rotates products on display and the shelf according to procedures and special programs. Organizes and maintains back room by stacking and arranging product by package and flavor, arranging the return of empty pallets and shells, damaged and out of date product to the branch. Creates and distributes point-of-sale materials on display and shelve where permitted. Rotates product. Fills and merchandises Fastlane merchandisers and vendors; checks vendor to ensure proper operation. Fosters business relationship with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, proactive pricing, special programs, new opportunities, and upcoming activities discussions. Identifies and communicates any competitive issues or market activities that could impact the business (i.e., pricing, new packaging, change in business strategy, etc.) and executes all job duties in a safe working manner.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Must have effective communication skills which include listening, speaking, and writing. Prior customer service experience preferred in a retail setting. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (lifting 50 lbs. repetitively). Critical thinking skills. Secondary education beyond high school preferred. High initiative and willingness to learn. Career-mindedness and a highly competitive nature.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid instate driver's license. Excellent driving history. Proof of insurance policy to verify current coverage of liability and property damage at no less than 50,000per person/100,000 accident insurance per occurrence/50,000 property damage and 500 or less deductible effective from first day of employment.
