About the Opportunity

Mosaic Pediatric Therapy has an opening for a Clinical Director to lead operations at one of our clinic locations.

Responibilities

  • Ensure high-quality services are delivered in the clinic and to home-based clients through monitoring clinic compliance, addressing systematic deficits, and identifying opportunities for continuous compliance improvement.
  • Coach, mentor and provide performance assessment of clinical staff in the performance of their duties (BCBAs, RBT Trainers, and RBTs).
  • Monitor and assess the clinical progress of all clients in the service region by ensuring appropriate assessment and clinically sound treatment plans are developed and administered.
  • Serve as point of contact regarding clinical concerns from parents and RBTs in the service region.
  • Work in conjunction with Human Resources to attract, hire and retain clinical candidates to meet company needs.
  • Oversee and assess effective service region RBT trainers and the effectiveness of RBT training protocols.
  • Maintain a modest program management caseload of approximately 10 billable hours per week; and
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

What you will bring

  • Must be BCBA Certified for a minimum of three years with previous experience in a staff leadership position.
  • Excellent organization, problem-solving, and time management skills will contribute to success in this position.
  • Experience using electronic medical record applications and Microsoft Office and/or equivalent G-suite applications is required.

General Practice Dentistry Preceptor (full time) - School of Dental Medicine

We are recruiting a full time General Practice Dentistry Preceptor for LECOM's Dental Outreach Clinic in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. This delightful little community is located in the Florida Panhandle between Pensacola and Panama City, just 30 minutes north of the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast.

The General Practice Dentistry Preceptor is responsible for providing fourth‑year dental students with training in diagnosis, treatment planning, sequencing, and the actual treatment of assigned patients; supervising students in the LECOM Dental Group Practices; providing students with clinical training in general dentistry; and other duties as assigned.

Salaried position requires a five‑day work week, 40 hours per week. An atypical schedule consists of three morning shifts (7 AM to 3 PM) and two evening shifts (11 AM to 7 PM) per week.

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to advise the students when consultations in the various specialties of dentistry are needed;
  • Must be able to follow LECOM SDM Standardization manual and clinic manual;
  • Responsible for supervising dental students in the LECOM Dental Group Practices;
  • Must possess excellent communication and patient interpersonal skills to instruct dental students to select, obtain and interpret patient data for the comprehensive assessment of a diverse patient population;
  • Must be able to provide dental students with basic clinical training in the following disciplines of general dentistry: Oral Diagnosis, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics, Operative Dentistry, Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Pediatrics, Orthodontics, and Geriatrics;
  • Attend meetings approved by SDM that require advancement of your profession;
  • Must be responsible and accountable to supervise and manage a 10‑15 chair patient practice area;
  • Must work in conjunction with the faculty & students to maintain patient flow;
  • Must be able to take direction and receive assignments from the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and/or other management personnel;
  • Must be available for work during the hours assigned, for student instruction and practice development;
  • Faculty member will contribute and be responsible for overall student success, including, but not limited to, advising and student outcomes;
  • Faculty member will contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
  • Faculty member will participate in scholarly activity to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
  • Faculty member will commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach;
  • Accept other duties needed/assigned for the practice needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Computer experience in the dental or other related field to allow for axiUm computer program entry;
  • Knowledge of Patient Relations and Scheduling;
  • Knowledge of ADA Coding;
  • Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols, at the practice level;
  • Knowledge of patient / student privacy (i.e. HIPAA, FERPA…etc.);
  • Follow proper OSHA and safety guidelines; protect equipment (office, dental, facility);
  • Strong communication skills are essential as well as computer literacy (MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel)) and accurate data entry skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Must be accurate and attentive to detail;
  • Must be trained and certified on the Institutional Data System;
  • Must have great skills in diagnosis and treatment planning in general dentistry;
  • Maintaining an established work schedule;
  • Effectively use interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy;
  • Effectively use organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and follow‑through;
  • Assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands;
  • Maintain confidentiality of work‑related information and materials;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience equivalent to: Successful applicant must be a general dentist with a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from a CODA‑accredited dental school. Five (5) years’ or more of experience practicing general dentistry required. Teaching experience in dental academia and/or advanced training in a general dentistry residency program preferred. Must hold a current Florida dental license or be able to get a FL dental teaching permit.

You’ll need to have

  • DDS/DMD degree, active and unrestricted license in state of Florida

Summary

This position will collaborate closely with pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to assess, plan, and administer anesthesia that is tailored to the unique physiological needs of pediatric patients. This includes conducting comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, discussing anesthesia options with patients' families, and providing age-appropriate education and reassurance to both the patient and their caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations, including reviewing the patient's medical history, laboratory results, and current medications.
  • Assess and identify any potential anesthesia risks or complications, discuss anesthesia options with patients, develop individualized anesthesia care plans and obtain informed consent.
  • Administer a variety of anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, and local anesthesia, as well as sedation, perform spinal, epidural, and peripheral nerve blocks.
  • Induce and maintain anesthesia during surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures. Monitor the patient's physiological responses to anesthesia and adjust anesthetic levels accordingly to ensure safety and comfort. Implement rapid sequence intubation (RSI) and manage difficult airways when necessary.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, and manage post-operative conditions.
  • Respond to code situations and provide emergency airway management, vascular access, and resuscitative efforts as part of the code team.
  • Educate patients and their families on the anesthesia process, potential risks, and post-operative care instructions, and provide guidance on recovery expectations, managing post-operative pain, and warning signs for complications.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless perioperative care.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring nurse anesthesia students, residents, or newly hired CRNAs.

Education and Experience

Education: Master’s degree in related field is required; Doctorate degree is preferred.

Certification: Registered Nurse licensure, CRNA certification, Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists certification, BLS, PALS, and ACLS certification is required.

Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
