Conformity Assessment Sr Program Manager

This position provides support for programs associated with IEEE conformity assessment initiatives. IEEE currently operates a variety of conformity programs and projects based on IEEE Standards across diverse technology areas such as telecom, distributed energy, cybersecurity and consumer electronics. The individual in this role will be engaged in day to day operations of these programs, as well as supporting the research for new conformity programs. They will interact frequently with volunteer technical experts in each program, prepare and present technical materials supporting program activities, and engage with internal staff to manage business operations. In this position, the individual will also develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement. They will maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance, as well as manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity. This role will support the Director for conformity programs and manages 0 direct reports though may be required to manage some contractors from time to time. This role requires familiarity with conformity assessment best practices, regulatory landscape, quality system audits, product testing, interoperability, and standards, as well as the ability to work comfortably across multiple technical sectors, and familiarity with emerging technology areas. The role will support projects and programs with general oversight from the Director. The incumbent is expected to provide general recommendations based on the analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the development, revision and operational management of department quality manuals and associated quality system procedures and policy documents
  • Responsible for the recording, analysis and monthly/quarterly reporting of financial data associated with their assigned ICAP programs
  • Responsible for the recording, product analysis, trend analysis and performance-tracking of all assigned ICAP programs
  • Recruits new members, identify and manage key resources required to progress initiatives which may include, test plan development, interoperability plugfests, pilot testing and/or educational workshops

Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Talon Logistics, Giant Eagle's transportation company, keeps the supply chain running smoothly and ensures our shelves are stocked with the great products our guests want and expect. Fleet Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for maintaining and repairing the commercial fleet used in all our distribution centers; including diesel and compressed natural gas, tractor trailer trucks, gasoline service truckers, reefers, and vans.

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to road calls by utilizing fleet repair trucks or tow service.
  • Install, replace and/or repair refrigerants, ventilation systems, brakes, engines, clutches, transmissions, starters, alternators, batteries, etc. as needed.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with all safety parameters.
  • Create and enter data for work orders and check sheets on work being performed to include posting of parts corresponding with fleet maintenance software.
  • Keep work area safe and clean.
  • Check equipment repair history and perform data input for system upgrades.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all commercial fleet vehicles and service trucks to Department of Transportation specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all tractors to include changing the oil, checking the filters, grease all fittings, checking all hoses, visually inspect the engine and tighten all bolts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all trailers, including lubing trailer joints, checking the doors, checking the exterior and repairing the rivets and sides as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel, CNG and commercial l tractor trailer trucks, gasoline service trucks and vans.
  • Review job orders and diagnose equipment to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
  • Use hand, power and pneumatic tools and testing instruments to repair and maintain equipment and vehicles
  • Examine protective guards and bolts and inspect safety devices on trucks and trailers in order to make adjustments as needed.
  • Test drive repaired tractor trailer trucks or service equipment in order to verify compliance with Department of Transportation specifications.
  • Perform Department of Transportation inspections on tractors and trailers.
  • Perform state inspections on tractors and trailers.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the design, development, and integration of industry-leading cutting-edge autonomous robotic systems. This role will oversee mechanical design efforts across multiple projects, lead a team of engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance autonomous systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design,development,and testingof robotic platforms including chassis, actuators, enclosures, and integration of sensors and electronics.
  • Own the full product development lifecycle from concept tocommercialization, including prototyping,lab and fieldtesting, anddesigniteration.
  • Lead design reviews,DFMEAs,documentation efforts,and change releases.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure mechanical and system-level integration.
  • Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles for efficient production.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers forcomponentsourcing,validation,prototyping, and manufacturing support.
  • Ensurescompliance withindustry-standardsafety, reliability, andregulatoryprinciples.
  • Performsdesignverification andvalidation,and mechanical analysis (thermal, stress, dynamics).
  • Develop and execute test plans for mechanical systems including field validation.
  • Mentor junior engineers andestablishbest practices in mechanical design and systems engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringor related field from an accredited university.
    MS in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in robotics, automation, or complex mechatronic systems.
  • StrongproficiencyinSolidWorksandSolidworksPDM,3D CADmodeling,and mechanical simulation tools(Ansys, FEA, CFD, tolerance stack analysis).
  • Understand and apply GD&T standards.
  • Solid grasp of EMI/EMC concepts including system level grounding and shielding.
  • Designing forharsh environments (temperature, shock, vibration).
  • Knowledge of CSA Class1, Div2 ,CE,anUL(preferred).
  • Demonstrabletrack recordofthe delivery of commercial products.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printing, CNC, sheet metal fabrication).
  • Deep understanding of materialselection, structural design, thermal management, and kinematics.
  • Experiencewithelectro-mechanicalcomponents such as actuators,stepperand drive motors,gearboxes, sensors, and embedded systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Framework and other regulated frameworks.
  • Experience in commercial product/system delivery in harsh environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems (i.e.SAP, NetSuite),andQMS systems (i.e.Arena, Adept,MasterControl).
  • Experience leading engineering projects and teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Autonomous or semi-autonomous mobile robots (e.g., drones, AMRs, humanoids).
  • Design for rugged environments (military, industrial, outdoor).
  • Familiarity with robotics standards (ISO 10218, R15.06, etc.).
  • Experience with agile development and rapid prototyping environments is a plus
  • Working knowledge of motion control, embedded systems, and system integration.
  • Experience in a manufacturingenvironment.
  • Experience ensuring product quality including standards, statistical methods,and testing.
