Wine Specialist

The Wine Specialist will be responsible to assists customers with their shopping experience including guiding them to products and making suggestions while operating the cash register to ring up various items in exchange for currency. Also stocks merchandise and prepares displays, while maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment, while providing standard customer service.

Duties include the following (but are not limited - other duties may be assigned):

  • Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact, by name if possible during transactions
  • Assists customers while ringing up/weighing items for purchase
  • Bags like groceries together, while using the least number of bags
  • Checks for bottom of the basket
  • Verify/balance register till at the beginning and end of shift
  • Accept/Verify/Process payment from customer in the form of cash, credit, debit, ebt, and check
  • Verify/Process, purchase orders, merchandise certificates and coupons
  • Check identification for tobacco and liquor purchases, as well as payment by credit card and check by following established company procedures
  • Register accuracy, knows/ carries out proper register procedures to meet company performance standards, price integrity.
  • Refills bag wells in front end, keep workstation clean and organized by dusting, wiping, and sweeping area.
  • Assists customers on the sales floor by finding items, returns stray items to their proper area, and removes damaged products from customer view
  • Stocks and rotates items, while keeping all labels faced forward
  • Pulls empty cardboard boxes off the shelves from around the store and bales boxes following proper equipment procedures
  • Returns misplaced products to their appropriate area, while maintaining product freshness by returning all perishables items to their proper areas promptly
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations

  • Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Maintains good communication with Store Director, fellow Wine Specialists, and Vendors.

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access screening requirements, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Screen individuals, packages, deliveries, and belongings in accordance with established site procedures, documenting and reporting prohibited items, unauthorized access attempts, and unusual activity.
  • Operate screening equipment and access-control tools as assigned, following established protocols for visitor entry, contractor check-in, and delivery coordination.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, common spaces, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
