About the Role

As Director of Mid-Market Sales , you will lead and elevate our mid‑market sales organization, driving performance, consistency, and execution excellence across the segment.

This is a leadership role focused on developing talent, sharpening sales rigor, and building a repeatable, high-performing motion. You’ll coach a team of already-performing Account Executives to win complex deals, deepen discovery, improve close rates, and consistently exceed targets.

This role is ideal for a sales leader who thrives in high‑accountability environments, loves developing talent, and knows how to build discipline and performance into a scaling mid‑market team.

What You’ll Do

  • Own mid‑market revenue performance, ensuring the team consistently hits and exceeds monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Coach and develop Account Executives to improve discovery, objection handling, deal strategy, and closing effectiveness.
  • Elevate call quality through regular deal reviews, call coaching, and structured feedback loops.
  • Improve pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and overall sales execution rigor.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted enablement programs to raise performance across the team.
  • Refine messaging, positioning, and demo execution to increase conversion rates and ACV.
  • Lead by example in strategic deals, modeling best-in-class mid‑market selling behavior.
  • Establish clear performance standards and accountability across the team.

What You’ll Bring

  • 6+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with 2+ years leading mid‑market or enterprise AEs.
  • Strong track record of improving rep performance through hands‑on coaching.
  • Experience scaling and optimizing mid‑market sales motions.
  • Proven ability to drive forecast accuracy and operational rigor.
  • Deep expertise in discovery‑led, consultative sales.
  • Ability to diagnose pipeline issues and implement corrective action quickly.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can raise the bar on performance standards.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Become a knowledgeable partner on Amazon Advertising solutions with revenue experience
  2. Develop annual brand and media strategies for growth based on overall advertiser goals/objectives
  3. Develop omnichannel media plans, campaign strategies, and audience targeting recommendations per brand and product line
  4. Evaluate KPIs and optimize campaign performance using a data driven approach
  5. Perform in-depth data analysis to deliver actionable insights & recommendations that influence short term / long term digital media strategy
  6. Educate advertisers on performance metrics, insights, and how to achieve greater results on Amazon
  7. Work cross-functionally with sales and other Amazon partners to drive incremental revenue and increase advertiser satisfaction

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years work experience, Advertising industry and Sales role.
  • Full Funnel experience in Omni-channel marketing, display, over-the-top (OTT) and search marketing
  • Effectively analyze data and insights to present strategic and tactical plans to advertisers
  • Adept at solving problems that span business and technology
  • Influence process improvement that scales broadly; inventing and simplifying within existing processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years work experience in an Advertising industry, client-facing sales role.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Economics, Marketing, Advertising, Statistics, Engineering or Business; MBA is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, relationship-building, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proven track record of delivering results (including revenue targets) and significantly contributing to advertiser revenue growth

Overview

Colorado Access is looking for a Director of Marketplace Sales who can help shape our vision and support our mission. Here is what the position will look like.

Department Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction and oversees the management and maintenance of department deliverables striving for operational excellence (productivity, quality, SLAs, customer experience of services provided, etc.).
  • Builds high performing teams with vision, leadership, goals and metrics.
  • Serves as a role model for team members; takes action and inspires team members to embrace and implement culture initiatives.
  • Provides awareness to staff about how their work impacts other departments, programs and the enterprise.
  • Encourages collaboration and holds team members accountable for achieving outstanding results.
  • Responsible for all management functions including hiring, training, planning and directing work, coaching and staff development, managing and evaluating performance, recognizing and rewarding employees; corrective action procedures and practices, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develops and manages the department budget.
  • Works closely with Directors across the organization to make tactical and operational decisions that advance company strategies and goals and collaborates to deliver on company-wide deliverables/requirements.
  • Oversees/leads departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives; may lead cross functional teams.
  • Develops and implements department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company policies, rules and regulations.

Job Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase ACA individual membership across Colorado.
  • Lead annual sales planning, forecasting, and goal setting aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive threats to inform product positioning and outreach.
  • Bring both an understanding of ICHRA and Medicaid cross-over population, as well as expertise in on and off exchange and specialty products.
  • Oversee the sales operations infrastructure including CRM systems, quoting tools, and reporting dashboards.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of sales performance, pipeline metrics, and broker engagement.
  • Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to streamline sales workflows and data integrity.
  • Knowledge of key FMOs, brokerages, enrollment vendors and platforms.
  • Understanding of commission systems and agent appointment software and vendors.
  • Build and manage relationships with brokers, navigators, and community-based enrollment partners.
  • Develop training programs and incentive structures to support broker success.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations regarding broker conduct and compensation.
  • Work closely with marketing, product, compliance, and customer service teams to align messaging and member experience.
  • Support open enrollment readiness and special enrollment period strategies.

What you will bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Health Administration, Marketing, Public Health, or related fields (master’s preferred). An equivalent combination of experience and/or education may substitute with a preference for nine years of progressive relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience in health insurance sales, with at least 3 years in ACA individual markets. Experience working with state-based exchanges (e.g., Connect for Health Colorado) is a plus.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven leadership in sales strategy, operations, and team management. Strong understanding of ACA regulations, Colorado health insurance market, and broker networks. Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), data analytics, and sales enablement tools. Demonstrates support for the company’s mission, vision and values. Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with public speaking/presentation experience. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to develop strategic partnerships and work with all levels of staff. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Pay, Perks and Benefits at Colorado Access

  • The compensation for this position is $159,200.00 to $190,200.00 annually. This position is eligible for a production bonus up to 30%, subject to meeting targets.
  • Colorado Access has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Colorado Access may pay for the position at the time of posting. Colorado Access may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range.
  • The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
