The opportunity

The Digital Certificates Technology Service (DCTS) team within the Information Security organization at EY is responsible for the engineering, development, and sustainment of digital certificate-based security solutions and encryption technologies that service the global firm.

The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Engineering Lead drives Information Technologies (IT) security and productivity pillars altri via enabling secure connectivity for technical assets and devices within EY’s global infrastructure through the creation and management of digital certificates. The role drives complex engineering design, development, and implementation activities to provide full certificate lifecycle management solutions aligned to multiple digital certificate use cases including Transport Layer Security (TLS), Code Signing, Authentication of User and Devices, and Email Encryption. The as deployed services rely on several technologies including, but not limited to, Microsoft’s Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) infrastructure, Hardware Security Modules (HSM), KeyFactor Command, Venafi Trust Protection Platformhelmet, Intune Certificate Connector and JAMF ADCS.

The Engineering Lead will oversee a team of engineering resources and manage all activities to be delivered by this team. The role serves as a bridge between the business, solution architecture design and IT operations stakeholders to ensure sustainment of the deployed services to meet all security, functional, and operational requirements and maintain the highest degree of service uptime as required by the business.

Your key responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for the strategy and best practices in engineering, design execution and aligned management of all complex build activities for specific new or modifications Leading existing features and functions within the DCT services space.
  • Manage the successful technical delivery of projects and services for our customers by working directly with key business stakeholders, executives and project teams. Securityardiers are the technical lead on initiatives and as such must drive the vision and alignment of the solution delivery.
  • Direct engineering and other technical activities supporting the scalability, supportability, production design, validation testing, release packaging, and release planning to maintain service stability and continuity.
  • Act as a product owner for deployed services to manage the vendor technologies and underlying infrastructure components including development and maintenance of product roadmaps aligned with each service offering.
  • Support the definition, design, and deployment of enterprise PKI systems to provide new or enhanced services for the business.
  • Maintain existing deployed service components including upgradesίων maintenance, and issue resolution.
  • Manage the configuration of PKI systems and develop and execute test plans to ensure readiness for production deployment.
  • Create and maintain system documentation.
  • Ensure PKI systems align to the security policies, standards, and industry practice.
  • Manage direct reports, identifies and recommends hiring and aligns responsibilities and objectives to abilities as well as coach performance to achieve success.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in information assurance, computer science, information systems or related field of study.
  • Experience: 12+ years of practical experience in the field of IT; 8+ years of direct Information Security experience; बै 6+ years of hands-on PKI engineering experience.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $128,100 to $239,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $153,800 to $272,300.   • Prosecuting patent applications in the US (including replies to Office actions, examiner interviews, and appeals to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board) and directing prosecution worldwide.
  • Conducting freedom‑to‑operate searches and analyses.
  • Conducting IP landscape analyses.
  • Conducting IP due diligence in the context of an asset purchase or securities offering.
  • Conducting invalidity and non‑infringement analyses.
  • Counseling clients on prosecution strategy.
  • Surveilling competitor patent applications and filing observations at the US Patent Office.
  • Assisting with contested cases at the US Patent Office (e.g., inter partes review, post‑grant review) or in US district court.
  • Assisting with agreements (e.g., for licenses, research collaborations, research services).

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred; will consider a master’s degree with substantial industry experience); strong technical background in biomedical engineering or materials science. (Engineering work in medical devices, diagnostics, and related areas, as well as bio/medical software and other AI applications or Materials science geared towards battery technology and inorganic chemistry)
  • 3-6 years of experience as a patent agent or patent associate.
  • Prior firm experience and registration with the USPTO.
  • An excellent academic record and superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
  • A demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service and a creative and entrepreneurial perspective on IP.
  • Experience in litigation and/or post‑grant proceedings is a plus.

Schedule

The Firm is currently operating in a hybrid model, with the requirement that everyone should be in the office at least four days per week. This schedule is subject to change dependent on Firm, department, and client needs, and will be routinely evaluated.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA location in the Heart Failure Division.

Abbott is currently seeking an experienced commercial attorney to provide legal advice to Abbott’s Heart Failure Division. The attorney will be expected to identify and resolve complex legal issues to support the operations of a global leader in the research, development, manufacturing, sales and marketing of medical device products. The ideal candidate will have experience working with healthcare providers and a solid understanding of payor agreement contracting principles as well as billing, reimbursement, compliance, and auditing guidelines and requirements. We encourage applications from individuals familiar with regulations governing Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) or Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities (IDTFs).

What You’ll Work On

  • Conducting reviews and revisions of payor agreements on request and offering legal advice on business payor relations and contracting strategies.
  • Providing legal guidance on DMEPOS and IDTF operations and related standards, including billing, reimbursement, auditing, and compliance program activities.
  • Offering advice on payor and reimbursement disputes to mitigate legal risks.
  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of agreements, including complex matters relating to procurement, sales, licensing, marketing, co-promotion and research collaborations.
  • Reviewing marketing programs and promotional materials to ensure compliance with FTC truth-in-advertising principles, Abbott policies and applicable law.
  • Advising and ensuring that internal clients receive sound, practical and timely legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters related to operation of a commercial business that markets to health care professionals.
  • Resolving legal issues using negotiation skills and legal expertise, including pre-litigation dispute resolution and settlements.
  • Assisting in the creation of new template agreements, playbooks and training to support efficient contracting processes for various business functions.
  • Developing knowledge of Abbott’s businesses, products and client areas supported.
  • Maintaining familiarity with laws that affect client areas to issue spot and provide basic counseling, including those relevant to sales and marketing of products to health care professionals and reimbursement by government programs, for example, fraud and abuse (Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, Stark, Beneficiary Inducement Statutes), FDA regulation (Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act), privacy (HIPAA), and anti-corruption (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act);
  • Representing Abbott externally to suppliers and customers; and
  • Helping select and/or directing the work of outside counsel, defining project objectives, managing project, and monitoring outside counsel budget.
  • This position will interact with the Legal, Compliance, Finance, Education, Supply Chain, Research & Development, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, Marketing, Commercial/Sales, and Information Technology Departments.
  • Infrequent and minimal travel may be required (10-15%).

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, demonstrate a strong academic background, and be admitted to a US state bar in good standing.
  • 3+ years of experience as a commercial attorney at a top law firm and/or in-house

Preferred Qualifications

  • Regulated industry or other relevant industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with working with healthcare providers and a solid understanding of payor agreement contracting principles as well as billing, reimbursement, compliance, and auditing guidelines and requirements.
  • Familiarity with regulations governing Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) or Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities (IDTFs).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced environment and exercise sound commercial and legal judgment.
  • Ability to independently handle complex matters with minimal supervision and understand which issues to elevate to senior management and appropriate timing for doing so.
