Job Summary

We’re seeking an adaptable, confident, empathetic Radiology Technologist who is able to provide quality diagnostic imaging for patients and providers at Sanford Health. The Radiologic Technologist is able to work in all atmospheres including clinic, hospital, ED, and OR settings where there are a broad range of fields like fluoroscopy, surgery, orthopedics, general, and emergency for the Radiologist Technologist to work under. One of the characteristics of a Rad Tech at Sanford is the need for precision, which is important in this line of work because the providers need quality imaging to give diagnoses to their patients. Sanford Radiology Technologists employees will have opportunities for advancement into other modalities including CT, MRI, and Mammo.

Responsibilities

* Performs diagnostic imaging examinations on patients ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images

* Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures according to provider requests

* Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection practices during the imaging process

* Ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system

* Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols

* Perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA procedures)

Qualifications

Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality

control, and radiation protection is required.

Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required.

If working in South Dakota, candidates must obtain their ARRT certification within 60 days of hire.

In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public

Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa

If working at some clinic locations, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks of hire into the position.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Driver's license may be required, dependent upon department.

Dental Assistant (X-Ray Licensed) – Pottsville, PA

We are excited to introduce a brand-new opportunity in our Pottsville practice and are looking for an X-ray licensed Dental Assistant to help us build something meaningful for our patients and our team.

This role is focused on Friday care for emergency dentistry, helping patients who are in pain get the treatment they need before the weekend. We are creating a unique opportunity to provide same-day care for patients who need relief right away. If you love dentistry and find fulfillment in helping patients feel better quickly, this could be a great fit.

Schedule:

  • Fridays: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 1 Saturday per month
  • As the program grows, there is potential to expand hours

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
  • Reviewing charts and treatment plans
  • Taking high quality digital dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Taking intra-oral pictures with intra-oral dental camera
  • Taking preliminary/ opposing alginate impressions
  • Setting up room with the correct instruments, hand pieces and materials
  • Recording medical and dental health histories and patient vital signs
  • Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)
  • Sterilizing and preparing dental instruments and equipment
  • Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
  • Providing excellent chair-side manner and patient care
  • Maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment
  • Monitor dental supply inventory, stock rooms
  • Maintain all dental equipment including autoclave, compressor, vacuum, water system, suction lines, light curing units, etc.
  • Input all treatment/treatment plans in the Dentrix management software program (charts)
  • Work closely with the dental team to create personalized treatment plans
  • When available, assist hygienists in charting, cleanup and setup of treatment rooms
  • Updating Radiographs, Intraoral Images and Itero Scans as needed
  • Assist other areas within the practice as needed
  • Keep medical emergency kit updated and current
  • Always abide by OSHA regulations
  • Computer proficiency

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited dental assistant program or on-the-job training preferred, but not required
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Excellent listening skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to educate patients without judgment or scolding
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
  • iTero and Dentrix experience are a plus but not required
  • Proficiency in digital X-rays
