Kitchen Helper

This Kitchen Helper position is responsible for maintaining sanitation standards, performing a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, and serving duties in a commercial kitchen, storeroom, dining, and serving area in remote camp locations.

This position will support the Schlumberger (SLB East Camp) on the North Slope. This is a 3-week on & 3-week off rotational position. The point of hire origin is Anchorage, AK.

Responsibilities

  • Assists cooks and others as needed and coordinates activities within a food service area.
  • Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
  • Maintains a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
  • Stocks various food service areas with various products and materials.
  • Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
  • Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
  • Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), spike rooms, and equipment as well as all floors.
  • Assists with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
  • Removes garbage from assigned areas.
  • Sets up, breaks down, and cleans tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines, etc.
  • May occasionally prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
  • May also be combined with other position duties.
  • Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or documented vocational training sufficient to demonstrate a knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, restaurant food preparation, and general commercial cleaning processes.
  • Must have or obtain an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
  • Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.
  • Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
  • Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.
  • Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
  • Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
  • Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Candidates residing outside Anchorage area: For the purposes of pre-employment testing, Anchorage will be considered the point of hire (with the exception of drug testing, which will be conducted near the candidate's place of residence). Employee is responsible for any travel expenses and needed accommodations related to pre?employment tasks that need to be completed in Anchorage, AK. This includes, but is not limited to, any safety training requirements, required pre?employment testing and/or training such as physical, DOT physical/medical card, fit for duty, audiogram, and/or other testing required by contract/company.

Candidates residing in Alaska for Alyeska Contract: pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate's area of residence within the state. The only exception is when the candidate lives in a region without the necessary service providers to complete all requirements.

Flights to remote locations: All employees are responsible for all expenses related to reporting to point of hire (Anchorage, AK) for scheduled trips paid for by the company for remote locations.

  • Allow 30 second rest after climbing up and down each set of 30 steps, self-paced. Stairs & Carry: Climb up and down 10 steps x 6 for a total of 60 steps while carrying 10 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp a railing for safety, self-paced.

Description

Proof of the Pudding has spent the past four decades providing innovative menus, services, design expertise and event experiences to clients throughout Atlanta and beyond. As a preferred caterer to over 50 venues in and around Atlanta, our Off-Premise team spearheads event innovations and culinary experiences to a range of gatherings from weddings, holiday parties, corporate retreats, and social events.

Proof of the Pudding is seeking additional Event Chefs to help facilitate off-premise events and to provide culinary support at events. Event Chefs are primarily responsible for the food production and set-up aspects as it pertains to the event. Event Chefs at times may be required to start their day at the warehouse pre-event to help gather all necessary food items, food quantities, check out food items and rentals as in pertains to the event's BEO, load truck and gather any additional materials they may need. However, you may just be required to show up directly to the event.

This position will report to the Proof of the Pudding corporate office in West Midtown, but will travel to and work events throughout the metro area and beyond. The position will report to the Culinary Captain or Culinary Manager of their event.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in event kitchen set-up areas by making sure it's clean and organized for event preparations
  • Follow proper timeline per the event's BEO
  • Read thoroughly and understand the event's BEO
  • Know your assigned job duties, which are delegated from the Culinary Management team
  • Assist in production of all aspects of assigned food production, such as hors d' oeuvres, food stations, plated meals, buffet, drink stations, dessert, throwing linens, setting up equipment/tables/chairs, and event break down
  • Demonstrate professional customer service skills while communicating with guests
  • Assisting in pre-event set up such as loading the truck, assisting in the equipment warehouse, and helping with inventory

What you’ll do:

We have multiple opportunities for Children's Case Managers to join our Apache Junction team. This position is full time and will require flexibility with scheduling for client and family's needs.

This position will provide direct service crisis intervention, support, transportation and education to families and children, independently of, or in conjunction with, other in-home client services. Complete family needs assessments, make appropriate referrals to collaborating partners and other community services as client needs indicate, ensure the continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services to clients and assist in coordinating communications with other departments of the agency or with collaborators in accomplishing this function.

What you’ll provide:

  • Must meet BHT requirements with either a bachelor’s degree or higher and one year of behavioral health experience OR an associate’s degree and two years of behavioral health experience OR a high school diploma AND four years of behavioral health experience.
  • Must have experience with the Child and Family Team process.
  • Must have Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Must have a valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Diff and Rural Diff per hour available.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at time of employment.

Additional Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender or sexual orientation.
  • Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical professional practice and the policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners.
  • If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC’s liability insurance carrier is required. At time of hire, a 3-year state driving record with no major infractions or excessive driving violations/tickets is required.
  • Staff members who provide direct client services must be at least 21 years old. Staff members who provide support services (administrative or clinical) must be at least 18 years old. All employees will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
