About The Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will initiate and lead our technical programs, driving them from concept to successful execution. You will require technical judgment to navigate ambiguity, make critical trade‑offs between engineering and business needs, and ensure outcomes align with long‑term organizational objectives.

In this role, you will be a central hub for stakeholder management, building trusted relationships with cross‑functional leaders and proactively resolving misalignment. You will not only deliver on key initiatives but also establish new, proactive programs that embed a culture of continuous improvement and high performance across the technical organization.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

  • Develop and mentor teams of engineers and project managers, while serving as a key partner and development lead for general and trade contractors.
  • Act as the strategic central hub for stakeholder management, building trusted relationships with cross‑functional leaders to navigate ambiguity and resolve misalignment without direct authority.
  • Foster a forward‑thinking culture that prioritizes continuous improvement, ensuring construction outcomes align with long‑term organizational objectives and verifying construction fundamentals from programming through commissioning.

You’ll be wildly successful in this role if you’re a smart strategist, analytical thinker, great writer, persuasive speaker, and someone who just knows how to get things done. You’ll report directly to the Head of Marketing (hi ), who has a background in product marketing and deeply values the function. This is a player-coach role with a small team (two direct reports), so you’ll get the chance to mentor others, while still running many projects yourself.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:

  1. Messaging and positioning : Build the foundation for Gem’s GTM engine, from the company narrative to product- and solution-level messaging.
  2. Product launch: Run launches that actually move the needle. We have a unique launch playbook and are looking to incorporate your best ideas!
  3. GTM strategy : Collaborate with the exec staff and Ops on our ICP, target personas, and GTM plays.
  4. Competitive intelligence : Create positioning, battle cards, and talking points to help us outmaneuver top competitors.

  6. Analyst relations: Work with Gartner and other firms to keep Gem top-of-mind and positioned favorably in industry reports.
  7. Pricing and packaging: Partner with Ops to define P&P for new products and evolve all offerings to best match market needs.
  8. Sales partnership : Collaborate with the VP Sales and segment leaders on winning messaging, persuasive pitch content, and strategies that boost revenue.
  9. GTM enablement: Enablement sits in Product Marketing, so your team will be responsible for Sales and Success collateral, product learning, playbooks, and information discovery via Highspot.

About You:

  1. Experienced B2B product marketing leader: You’ve spent 10+ years in product marketing or related fields at B2B SaaS companies with sales-led GTM motions. You’ve also been a people manager for 3+ years. Experience in TA/Recruiting tech is a bonus.
  2. Startup veteran: You’ve been in the trenches of fast-moving startups before (~100-1,000 employees) and find it thrilling. You know how to balance velocity with strategy and thrive in an environment where you can take initiative and make a difference.
  3. Excellent communicator: You write well, build great presentations, run efficient meetings, and know how to get others excited about your vision. You also have a portfolio of external content you’re excited to share.
  4. Curious problem solver: You’re always in search of ways to improve the business, and know the most important work is rarely the easiest or most obvious. Questioning things is in your DNA, and “why” is one of your favorite words.
  5. Organized and proactive: You always have a thorough plan and know how to keep the trains running on schedule. Running two product launches in the same month is no problem, and you love the thrill.
  6. Executive presence : You comfortably interface with VPs and C-levels. You can present your strategy internally, meet with customers, or moderate a panel without breaking a sweat.
  7. Data obsessed: The thought of making big decisions without data makes you cringe. You’re fluent in Salesforce and spreadsheets and use them every day.
  8. People-first leader: You enjoy being in a highly visible role and helping everyone around you to be their best. You’re always there for your team, but also know how to get the whole company excited about your initiatives and vision.

Benefits:

  1. Highly competitive salary & equity
  2. 10-year window to exercise your stock options
  3. Supportive Flexible Time Off program
  4. 16 paid holidays, including regular company-wide wellness days

Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer
Greylock Partners
san francisco, ca
Compensation: 250.000 + - 250.000 +

Company: One of our consumer AI investments is hiring an ML Infrastructure Engineer. The founding team helped build iconic consumer products at Pinterest, Lyft, Whatnot, Grubhub, and others. We led the Seed round, and the company is finalizing a Series A with another tier-1 VC.

Team size: 20+ (and growing)

The opportunity: You’ll be an early ML Infra hire helping scale training and inference systems that directly power a consumer product. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: reliability, performance, cost, and developer velocity.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and operate large-scale ML infrastructure for training and inference (GPU compute, orchestration, model serving)
  • Own core systems for data and feature pipelines, model artifacts, experiment tracking, and evaluation
  • Improve observability and reliability across ML and production systems (monitoring, debugging, incident response, SLAs)
  • Drive efficiency across the stack (latency, throughput, cost, capacity planning)
  • Partner closely with researchers/ML engineers/product engineers to unblock shipping

Role (key traits):

  • 3+ years building large-scale distributed systems infrastructure; 2+ years building modern ML systems in industry: ML training and inference systems, large-scale distributed infrastructure, GPU-backed compute, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, production reliability, Python + a systems language, PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • BSCS or equivalent (MSCS preferred)
  • Strong coding and systems fundamentals (production-grade engineering, not just prototypes)

Good fit for this role if you have:

  • Owned production ML training and/or serving infrastructure end-to-end (not just model development)
  • Experience with distributed compute and data systems (scheduler/orchestration, storage, streaming/batch, reliability)
  • Comfort operating systems in production: on-call mindset, instrumentation, performance tuning, cost discipline
  • Built internal platforms that improved ML developer velocity (reusable pipelines, tooling, paved roads)
  • Enjoyed ambiguity while moving quickly with a small team, and you like building “the system” as much as “the model"

Not a good fit for this role if you’re primarily:

  • Focused on research or model architecture work and don’t want to own production systems
  • Looking for a role with minimal on-call/ops responsibilities or limited accountability for reliability
  • Experienced only with notebooks/prototypes and not with production-grade infra and debugging
  • Targeting more specialized scope rather than broad ownership across the ML stack
