Compensation: 120.000 - 160.000

Build the Future of Carbon Conversion & Renewable Energy

Location: Franklin, TN (On-Site)
Type: Full-Time
Seniority: Director / Leadership

Join Enexor BioEnergy

Enexor is a venture-backed, early-stage climate tech company just outside of Nashville, TN, developing distributed systems that turn organic and plastic waste into clean energy and high-purity CO₂. We are reimagining how the world addresses emissions, waste, and energy access—one modular system at a time.

We’re not just solving problems. We’re redefining what’s possible at the intersection of engineering, energy, and sustainability.

Why This Role Matters

We’re seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and scale our multidisciplinary engineering team as we develop, build, and deploy the next generation of our waste-to-energy and carbon capture systems. You’ll be both strategist and builder—setting the engineering vision, managing execution, and rolling up your sleeves to help solve complex hardware challenges.

This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. You will own the engineering organization while collaborating across product development, fabrication, and field deployment to take ideas from whiteboard to world-changing systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and grow a world-class mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering team.
  • Drive end-to-end product development—from concept to CAD, DFM, fabrication, commissioning, and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable engineering processes that support rapid prototyping and high-reliability deployment.
  • Own technical architecture decisions and cross‑functional integration across subsystems (combustion, thermal, gas separation, pressure, controls).
  • Guide engineering trade‑offs with strong first‑principles thinking and cost‑performance analysis.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic initiatives, resource planning, and technical hiring.
  • Instill a culture of ownership, urgency, and innovation in everything you build.

What We’re Looking For

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; deep hardware/system experience required.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ in technical leadership or management roles.
  • Proven success developing complex mechanical or thermal systems—ideally in energy, emissions, or industrial environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with pressure vessels, piping, structural systems, heat transfer, or adsorption tech is a major plus.
  • Strong grasp of CAD (Inventor), simulation (FEA/CFD and other Process Modeling), and manufacturing workflows.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats: player‑coach, mentor, problem‑solver, and executor.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with modular product design, automation, or containerized systems.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Mission with urgency: You’ll help solve real‑world energy and emissions problems with technology that scales.
  • No red tape: Fast decisions, flat org, and deep ownership.
  • Equity upside: This is an early‑stage leadership opportunity with real skin in the game.
  • True engineering culture: We build, we test, we fix, we deploy.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + equity stake in a fast-growing climate tech company.
  • 401(k) plan and health insurance stipend (QSEHRA).
  • Paid vacation and holidays.

Ready to Lead?

Send your resume and a brief note about your background to We’re especially interested in candidates who have led teams building high‑performance energy systems, carbon capture, or other hard‑tech infrastructure.
