Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Principal OR Sr. Principal Payloads Field Service Engineer to our International Field Service Engineer team. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting MQ-4C Triton Program. This position reports to the Operations team lead within the Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (MS IPT) and will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton sensors and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide real time support to flight operations and maintenance addressing any issues related to communications and/or payloads to include MFAS Radar, EO/IR, airborne recorder, and link16 to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
  • Coordinate work with site leadership and confirm that Maintenance Action Forms (MAFs) are in place for all required work.
  • Adhere to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success. Provide redlines to procedures when necessary.

Note: This position requires 6+ months of training on a Domestic Assignment to San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA with some travel to other US locations such as Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, FL. After training is completed, it is expected that the candidate will be available to deploy to Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for a minimum of 24 months, based on current business needs. The international location will be selected by Northrop Grumman after training is completed and will be based on timing and available location(s), determined by business needs. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. What The Role Entails

The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for overall project success. Including project oversight, direction, and strategy over multiple $300+ Million data center construction projects, particularly relating to safety, schedule, scope, budget, and quality within CloudHQ’s portfolio. The Sr. PM manages customer expectations and the relationships with facilities operations throughout the project regarding schedule, delivery and turnover to the client.

What You Will Get to Do

  • Prime leadership role for extended team of professionals assembled to safely deliver major capital construction projects to meet business needs. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, operations, Finance and internal department leaders to assure project team fulfills the mission and objectives of the capital projects.
  • Provide direction and support teams responsible for the preparation of scopes of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates and budgets, work plan schedule and milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
  • Oversees General Contractor, direct contractors (ex. Commissioning Agents), third party testing agencies, the project controls and MEP teams for each project. Responsible for tracking project timelines to ensure milestones are being met by each of these entities.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for GC/subs and specialty vendor selection, award and contracts

  • Reports status and variances. Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule. Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure internal approvals, and manage change throughout the coursed of the project.
  • Assesses and quantify change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk. Demonstrates ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
  • Optimize project cost-effectiveness and budget utilization including constructability reviews and Value Engineering (VE) into the design process.
  • Implement and lead typical Project level management tasks including contract status, finance/funding/payment status, budget updates, schedule baseline and monthly updates (EVM), submittals, contract documentation, project records and final contract hand off.
  • Develop and implement project-level financial controls, pay application processing, project change review and pricing, release of retention, claims, and resolutions
  • Validate that drawings and specifications accurately reflect the desired construction quality and ensure any item requiring remediation is documented and remediated to owner satisfaction.
  • Ensure all field installations are in accordance with the design.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and assure systems are in place to deliver highest quality standards for project safety- from start to finish. Provide leadership to confirm all Contractors and Suppliers are following safety best practices and producing the industry leading performance expected.
  • Monitor and control risk management insurance and liability controls for assigned projects
  • Lead typical construction management monthly project meetings, (OAC, Design, MEP, ACx, etc.)

Requirements

What You Bring to The Role

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, construction management or relevant field experience required.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in General and/or Specialty Construction Project Management with 10+ years’ experience in data center or similar mission critical facilities construction
  • Experience in managing $300M+ projects
  • Experience in urban environments with difficult logistics and fast-track schedules
  • Experience in construction management, capital budget management, and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations
  • Ability to demonstrate strong capability and expertise in Primavera, MS Project, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of Project Management, Planning, Construction Management, and Data Centers.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in dealing with Owners, Architects, Contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of prime contracts including lump sum, GMP, hard bid, negotiated, design-build, etc.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $112,000 - $123,000

A Day in the Life
As a Director of Engineering, the candidate selected for this role will become instrumental in defining future product offerings for the Diabetes Operating Unit. Expected to lead a team in the design and development of integrated, novel diabetes products, this individual will be accountable to Mechanical R&D department deliverables, managing resources according to Medtronic and industry policies, standards, and regulations. Further, the candidate will continue to improve departmental procedures while building upon a strong foundation of talent through hiring, coaching, and mentoring. This position will work across functions within R&D, Operations, Product Management, Quality and Regulatory to assure successful execution of the programs. While a hybrid work schedule is acceptable, in order to perform the necessary duties of this role, on-site attendance in the Northridge, CA facility is expected 4 days out of the week. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. Responsibilities

  • Defines and executes deliverables in the development of novel diabetes platforms
  • Establishes framework Mechanical R&D to support sustaining activities at manufacturing sites and suppliers
  • Establish, track, and measure outcomes of design integration tranches
  • Ensure design capability by means of comprehensive technical reviews, physical and simulated testing, and robust documentation
  • Working with internal and external partners to produce tooling, platform prototypes, and demonstrate manufacturing capability
  • Responsible for team professional development to promote engagement, growth, job satisfaction and organizational health
  • Represent the organization as a technical speaker in conferences covering products and technology, as needed
  • Collaborate across Medtronic to ensure best practices are employed in design/development
  • Organizes activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery
  • Identifies, plans, and maintains resource needs, cost center budget, employee assignment, and staffing decisions
  • Ensures engineering approach and designs conform to applicable industry standards and Medtronic procedures

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in high-volume, electromechanical assemblies

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $194,400.00 - $291,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) and an annual long-term incentive plan. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
