ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).

  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.

  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.

  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners to triage appropriate plan of action including equipment swaps etc.

  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager

  • External: Dealer Service Managers

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 5 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.

  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting ability using fleet maintenance software.

  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.

  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations pertaining to the shop and fleet.

  • Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.

Primary Care Physician

The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. The Nebraska Western Iowa-Bellevue, NE VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a permanent, Primary Care Physician.

Position entails other duties as assigned.

  • The Physician will be responsible for delivery of primary care to patients enrolled at the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. The provider will manage scheduled and unscheduled patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
  • The primary care provider is an integral member of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) teamlet, similar to a medical home team, and is expected to work closely and coordinate patient care with other PACT teamlet members including nursing, clerical pharmacy, social worker, dietitian, etc. Primary care physicians will participate in daily huddles with other teamlet staff and participate in primary care systems redesign projects.
  • A primary care provider in the outpatient setting is assigned a panel of patients to manage under Primary Care Management Model (PCMM) guidelines; recommended panel size at the division level is calculated based on patient complexity, support staff and room availability. Each provider's panel size is specific to their practice and setting.
  • Primary Care Physicians may have responsibility for supervision of or collaboration with primary care mid-level providers.
  • Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and to participate in peer review of other primary care providers through periodic chart reviews.
  • Primary care physicians will act as surrogates for absent primary care providers when needed, to include review of CPRS view alerts.
  • Primary care physicians will regularly attend primary care staff meetings, departmental meetings and medical staff meetings.
  • Timely documentation (notes and encounter forms) is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policy. All administrative work should be completed in a timely fashion.
  • All physicians will always work within their privileges and follow the Medical Bylaws.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Authorized: This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Former participants are ineligible to apply for the EDRP incentive.
