Project Manager
Position: Project Manager at the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) with a focus on IT projects.
Responsibilities include project planning, execution, stakeholder management, quality assurance, project documentation, and risk management.
Required to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Will be in charge of coordinating resources, managing project teams, meeting project milestones, and ensuring adherence to the project plan.
Will be responsible for implementing quality assurance processes and maintaining thorough documentation of all project activities.
Must have exceptional communication skills to effectively communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the IT sector is required.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is required and Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) PM certification is a plus.
Must have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies such as Agile and Scrum is needed.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure is crucial.
