Job Summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, Florida, is seeking a full‑time Hospitalist Chief to lead our expanding team of elite physicians at a Level II Trauma Center dedicated to unparalleled patient outcomes.

  • GME coverage for Internal Medicine Residency Program
  • Daily census about 25 per provider / About 30 daily admissions
  • Hospitalist will manage ICU patients
  • Hospitalist(s) do NOT run codes
  • Preferred experience with Meditech EMR

Position Highlights

  • Providers and support staff include 2 Internal Medicine physicians, 1 IM APC, 4 Family Medicine physicians, and 1 FM APC; each clinician is paired 1:1 with a Medical Assistant, supported by 5 front-desk receptionists and a shared RN.
  • Patient population ranges from newborns to the elderly, covering all ages.
  • The clinic offers a full-service LabCorp-managed lab and a full-service radiology department managed by Premier Radiology.
  • A key advantage is its attachment to a microhospital, providing patients convenient access to primary care and emergency services in one location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
