About Counsel

Counsel’s mission is to multiply the world's healthcare capacity. We believe in a future in which every person has a personalized, AI-enabled doctor always in their pocket. To accomplish this, we’re building the first fully-vertical, AI-native medical group from the ground up. We’ve redesigned the entire clinical stack with custom AI tools that make our in-house physicians 10x faster and smarter. Learn more on our blog. Since our founding in 2023, we have formed partnerships with leading healthcare organizations and are on track to serve hundreds of thousands of patients on our platform within the next year. We have raised over $35M from a16z, Google Ventures, Pear VC and other top-tier VC firms. Our team combines deep expertise in medicine (Harvard, Mt. Sinai, Mass General, UCSF) and technology (MIT, Google, DeepMind, NVIDIA, Stripe, Meta) — and we’re looking for exceptional people to join us as we scale.

Join us as we build the future of AI in healthcare!

-----------------------------------------------------

About the role

We have formed partnerships with leading healthcare organizations and are scaling fast. We need a Senior Product Manager, Enterprise to own how Counsel's product shows up inside the world's leading healthcare organizations — and to build the consumer experiences that make those partnerships actually work. Your role is to not just make Counsel bigger one partnership at a time, but make Counsel better for everyone.

This role is equal parts consumer product and enterprise platform. You'll ship net-new features for patients — onboarding flows, evals, care interactions, clinical touchpoints — and you'll do it with a constraint that sharpens every decision: what you build has to work across all of our partners, not just the one asking. You will own our partner integration surface: the APIs, customization layers, and embedded experiences that let healthcare organizations bring Counsel's care capabilities into their products. You'll co-design with partners, build a product their consumers love, and build platform primitives that make each new integration easier than the last.

This role can be remote, with a strong preference for our NYC office.

What you’ll do

  • Co-design with partners: push back where the vision is wrong, push harder where it isn't going far enough

  • Build platform primitives that make each new integration easier than the last, so the team isn't rebuilding from scratch every time

  • Own partner relationships end to end, navigating executive conversations with clarity and earning trust through what you deliver

  • Champion a high bar for the end user experience in every integration, every conversation, every build

Requirements

  • 4+ years of product management experience with a meaningful focus on B2B2C products

  • Strong technical fluency: APIs, integrations, and platform architecture. You make the right calls and earn the respect of your engineering partners

  • Experience on a B2B2C product where the end user experience actually mattered for the success of the partnership, and where the business had strong opinions about how that experience should look

  • A systems thinker: you design for the current partner and build for the next five

  • The kind of relationship with partners and engineering where they actually want your opinion, not just your roadmap update

  • A genuine obsession with the end user experience: you've pushed back on lazy integrations, raised the bar on what good looks like, and built things that made a real difference

You're a great fit if

  • You've worked on platform and API-first products where your product lived inside someone else's brand

  • You're deeply interested in AI and where it's going, and you want to work somewhere that's building something real with it

  • You've built embedded or white-label product experiences

  • You actively use AI tools in your product workflow and have strong opinions about where they make you better

  • You have some familiarity with healthcare IT, EMR integrations, or health system partnerships — or you learn that kind of thing fast

What we offer

  • Impact: Own one of the most consequential surfaces at Counsel at a moment when every partnership shapes how care reaches patients

  • Growth: Real opportunity to define how enterprise product works here as we scale

  • Exposure: Direct access to leadership and close proximity to some of the most ambitious work happening in healthcare technology

  • Compensation: Competitive salary + equity

  • Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare, vision + dental, 401K, Unlimited PTO, Parental Leave

-----------------------------------------------------

Our Values

  • Patients come first.
We are clinicians 1st, technologists 2nd. We act with patient trust/safety at the center of every decision.

  • Innovate with optimism.
We are optimistic as we build the future of care delivery from first principles. Challenge the status quo when needed, no sacred cows.

  • Right answer wins.
Debate openly and pick the strongest path. We optimize for the company, not functions. We win and lose as a team.

  • Simplicity over complexity.
We choose clear, elegant solutions and avoid adding complexity that does not serve patients or the team.

  • Do fewer things, well.
We focus, and hold ourselves to the highest bar and pursue excellence in those areas.

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, BAAs, revenue recovery service agreements, data licensing and data sharing agreements, vendor contracts, and payer agreements.
  • Own and administer the company's CLM platform (Ironclad or similar), including workflow configuration, template management, and process improvement.

Product Development and Commercialization

  • Advise on the full spectrum of data use scenarios—PHI under HIPAA authorizations and BAAs, as well as de‑identified data.
  • Partner with product, data science, and business development teams to assess new data monetization opportunities and structure them compliantly from the ground up.

Broader Compliance & Legal Support

  • Support compliance risk assessments, internal investigations, and responses to government inquiries and audits.
  • Manage and respond to subpoenas and other legal process requests, including coordinating with internal teams on document collection, reviewing responsive records for privilege and confidentiality, and liaising with outside counsel as needed.
  • Assist the General Counsel on M&A due diligence, corporate governance, and transaction support.

Legal Technology & AI

What You Need

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
  • 4+ years of experience, including meaningful in‑house and/or law firm experience in healthcare technology, health IT, or SaaS.

  • Experience with data‑centric business models.
  • Familiarity with emerging federal and state healthcare and health data legislation.
  • Experience with AI tools and working within sales‑centric CLM.
  • Prior experience in a PE‑backed company environment.
