Position Purpose: Associates in Store Support positions are responsible for a variety of non-sales functions. This may include ensuring an outstanding customer order fulfillment experience, assisting customers in the lot or providing administrative services. Direct customer or vendor interaction is sometimes required for these positions. Whether directing customers to store departments or merchandise, answering customer questions on product order status, handling cash management or program compliance, these positions play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Individuals in these positions must work cooperatively with other Associates, vendors, carriers, and productively with little/some supervision, be detail-oriented, and have proven time management skills. They must demonstrate a high level of integrity at all times, respond to operational concerns of all associates and remain focused on store specific business objectives while supporting key operational responsibilities. Specific positions may include: Office Associate, Order Fulfillment Associate, Lot Associate, and Customer Service Representative.

Assistant Retail Store Manager

As an Assistant Retail Store Manager, you will support the daily operations of the store, working closely with the Retail Store Manager to drive sales, manage staff, and provide exceptional customer service. You will assist in overseeing inventory, merchandising, order fulfillment, store projects, and events, while helping to foster collaborative and positive team environment that reflects our commitment to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, employee oversight, and workflow management.
• Support the training and development of new and existing employees on company culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and daily responsibilities. Monitor associate performance and provide coaching to help the team meet individual KPIs.
• Assist in managing payroll, schedules, and labor costs, ensuring the store is adequately staffed to meet customer needs and business demands.
• Support inventory management, including replenishment, price adjustments, ticketing, and maintaining accurate stock levels. Assist in implementing loss prevention practices and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Help maintain the store's visual standards and merchandising displays in alignment with company guidelines and overall brand aesthetic.
• Assist in analyzing sales trends, tracking key metrics, and supporting initiatives to improve store performance and profitability.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and guiding customers to the appropriate departments as needed.
• Assist with the care and maintenance of store items, including koi fish, plants, greenhouses, and outdoor areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-presented environment.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the Retail Store Manager and store operations.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in a management or supervisory role - Required
• Experience leading or supporting a team of associates, including coaching and performance management
• Heavy machinery operation experience - A Plus!
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Physical requirement involving the exertion of force up to 45 pounds, including standing, lifting, and walking flights of stairs
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent - Required
• Available for varied weekly shifts including weekends, holidays, peak seasons, open and closings as needed - Required
• Familiarity with ponds, aquariums, aquatic plants or fish - a plus!

Position Information:

School Bookkeeper

The school bookkeeper performs advanced clerical and bookkeeping work in examination, analyses, and verification of fiscal records in a K-8, middle or high school. Duties are varied and include maintaining bookkeeping controls of funds disbursed or received and preparing financial data required for fiscal management. Work requires independent judgment in solving most problems. Work is performed under the supervision of the school principal and is reviewed through analyses of statements and reports and is subject to audits.

High school graduation or GED AND Two years of bookkeeping/accounting experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Maintains a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions as required by federal, state, and school board rules, regulations, policies, and laws, and reviews and reconciles accounts and budget reports on a monthly basis. Analyzes, verifies and reconciles school budget reports to ensures that the maximized use of funds are in compliance with local, state and federal fiscal requirements. Composes complex financial correspondence for principal's signature. Assists principal with budget development. Initiates and prepares budget transfers and amendments. Purchases materials for the school using a variety of approved purchasing methods. Initiates all purchase order request forms, obtains quotes for materials and necessary approvals, and maintains records of transactions. Reviews orders received and distributes merchandise received from vendors and the county warehouse. Initiates and reviews school contracts and prepares supporting documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Initiates and prepares payment requests, (direct payments, purchase orders, travel requests), reviews for proper documentation, completes with proper budget codes, verifies available balances, identifies new account codes when necessary, obtains necessary approvals, resolves discrepancies, and maintains a file of all transactions. Initiates, prepares, and processes transactions relating to the school's purchasing card according to set procedures, tracks expenditures and reconciles balances with Oracle on a monthly basis. Manages the school's checking account to include receipt books audits, collects, and verifies monies received from staff, ensures funds are delivered to the bank according to policy, issues school checks, reconciles the bank account, posts activities on the online payment software, pays officials using Arbiter sports software, reconciles the school account activity with Oracle, assists in district run audits of records and accounts. Trains backup bookkeeper to ensure they are familiar and able to perform the essential bookkeeping duties pertaining to Fund 6 in the absence of the school Bookkeeper. Answers inquiries from staff and parents pertaining to interpretation of school system's financial policy and procedures. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Must be able to use a variety of office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Must be able to communicate effectively. At times requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to ten pounds. Due to the amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for sedentary work. Must be able to work in a school or office environment and come into direct contact with school system staff, students, parents, external agencies, vendors, and the community.

Benefits:

Except as otherwise required by state law, those considered part-time are eligible for sick time only in states that mandate it and amounts are accrued on a per pay period basis and range from 24 hours to unlimited based on state rules. In Washington, part-time Associates receive sick leave consistent with state law. Part-time Associates are also eligible for between 8 hours and 40 hours per year of vacation based on their length of service and subject to a 1 year waiting period. Part-time Associates are also eligible for 4 hours of Floating Holiday Time each calendar year subject to manager approval.
