North Port is a rapidly growing community in Sarasota County experiencing explosive economic and population growth, ranking as one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. In November 2025 , SMH broke ground on a new $507 million hospital in North Port . Situated on a 32-acre site the health system owns on North Sumter Boulevard, SMH-North Port will be the city s first acute-care hospital , and the third hospital SMH has built in its 100-year history. When completed in 2028, SMH-North Port will be nine stories tall, with an adjacent 3-story medical office building. The hospital will initially open with 100 beds, with three floors of built-in shell space to quickly double capacity to 208 beds as demand grows. The south county campus is designed to grow with the community, with the capacity to increase to more than 400 beds in the future.

Practice Information:

  • Join two Family Medicine physicians and one Internal Medicine physician in an established, growing practice.
  • Outpatient-only position with no OB responsibilities
  • FPG s Medical Hospitalist Group manages inpatient admissions across all hospitals.
  • Expanded access model with extended hours, offering greater patient convenience and enhanced physician scheduling flexibility to support work-life balance.
  • Expected clinic volume is approximately 18 patients per day .
  • Call is from 4:30 PM 8:30 AM and is limited to low-volume, phone-only coverage.
  • Sarasota Memorial Hospital operates a busy 22-bed freestanding emergency department in North Port, located in the same building as the outpatient clinic.

  • Olympus Health coordinates and performs physical evaluations for state agencies supporting individuals applying for government services in Louisiana and multiple other states around the country.
  • We provide this service one or two Saturdays per month, ensuring there is no conflict with your current professional schedule. Each clinic day typically runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, depending on the number of scheduled evaluations.
PERTINENT INFORMATION
  • As the provider, you will provide disability examinations and evaluations that primarily test the claimant s function and range of motion.
  • Conduct basic physical evaluations using a structured, easy to follow template
  • Perform assessments solely for the purpose of assisting the State of Louisiana in determining eligibility for government programs
  • Document findings clearly and professionally
  • Not establish a doctor patient relationship
  • Not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice
  • Not determine whether a claimant qualifies for benefits
  • We schedule each clinic about 6-8 weeks in advance and can work around your current professional schedule. Payment is issued immediately upon completion of the charts, so there is no waiting for billing.
  • We will pay $65 per patient seen for the conducting of these physicals. That comes out to be about $110-$130 an hour. On average you can expect to conduct about 14-16 physicals during the 1 day/month clinic.

Job Details / Responsibilities
  • Provide general OB/GYN call coverage for hospital patients.
  • Manage labor and delivery, obstetric emergencies, gynecologic consultations, and routine inpatient OB/GYN care.
  • Work within a 50-bed community hospital utilizing Epic EMR.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and available specialty support.
  • Care for adult, geriatric, and adolescent patient populations.
  • Handle patient volumes based on delivery and hospital census needs.
  • Support approximately 15 deliveries per month.
  • Utilize available backup services:
    • General Surgery available 24/7
    • Limited Urology coverage available two days per week
  • Complete all required Epic EMR training modules and virtual training before the first scheduled shift.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Board Certified OB/GYN or Truly Board Eligible (within 0 5 years of residency completion) (Required)
  • Active Colorado Medical License or Active IMLC Letter of Qualification at time of submission (Required)
  • Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation (Required)
  • Active BLS certification (Highly Preferred; required during credentialing)
  • Active DEA registration (Highly Preferred; required for credentialing)
  • Ability to complete all Epic EMR training requirements prior to start date (Required)
  • Must be available for the listed July coverage dates to be considered for ongoing opportunities (Required)
  • Must specify the number of ongoing shifts available per month (Required)
  • Clean malpractice and background history strongly preferred

  • Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) / Quality Assurance (QA) and peer review activities as requested. Assist, as requested, in the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.Support patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, assess clinical safety and efficacy data, consistent with Research Institute policies.
  • Provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship of fellows, residents, APPs (e.g., physician assistants and advance practice registered nurses), and students and others (as appropriate) providing services to patients, including meaningful participation with the affiliated medical schools as requested.
