The Headache Medicine Neurologist provides specialized neurologic care focused on the evaluation, diagnosis, and long-term management of primary and secondary headache disorders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients with headache disorders including migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, and other facial pain syndromes
  • Diagnose and manage secondary headache conditions and coordinate appropriate diagnostic evaluation
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing preventive, abortive, and rescue therapies
  • Manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic headache treatments
  • Perform office-based procedures consistent with training and privileges, such as onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) injections, peripheral nerve blocks, and trigger point injections
  • Interpret relevant diagnostic studies including neuroimaging and laboratory results
  • Provide outpatient headache clinic care and inpatient neurology or headache consultation services as needed
