Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon Opportunity

Carilion Clinic, headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, is searching for a fifth fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon to join the Section of Spine and Scoliosis, within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery starting Summer 2026. Opportunity to take over a busy and well established practice. The ideal candidate is trained in the full spectrum of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine evaluations and procedures, including decompressions, single and multi-level cervical, thoracic and lumbar fusions. The current surgeons and physician assistants see more than 300 patients per week in the clinic setting, and the 4 current surgeons perform 900+ spine cases per year. The present surgeons treat a broad range of patients performing procedures on children and adults ranging from single level minimally invasive decompressions to complex 3 column revision osteotomies. The primary clinical site is in Roanoke, Virginia with an outreach clinic at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, in Christiansburg, VA. The majority of the spine operations are performed at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital a 763-bed academic/tertiary referral medical center with a Level 1 Trauma program. The Carilion Clinic Orthopaedic Surgery Department includes 45+ Physicians and 16 Physician extenders in seven subspecialty sections providing patient centered care throughout the region. Faculty participate in Education of the Medical Students from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) as well as off service residents and PA students. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has fellowship programs in Scoliosis and Spine Surgery (1), Adult Reconstruction (2), Foot and Ankle Surgery (1), Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery (1-2), Orthopaedic Trauma (2), Musculoskeletal Research (3) a Podiatry Residency Program (9) and a new Orthopaedic Residency program started July 2024 with 4 residents per year. This position offers the opportunity to benefit from an academic practice setting practicing with many of the advantages of a community practice in a state-of-the-art facility, supported by a large academic institution. Orthopaedic Surgeons have academic appointments through the VTCSOM at the Assistant Professor level with a promotion pathway to Associate and Full Professor. Research efforts are supported through the department of Orthopaedic Surgery's Musculoskeletal Education and Research Center (MERC). New graduates are encouraged to apply. Minimum requirements include: Board eligible/certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship trained in Spine Surgery Research interest encouraged and supported. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an immediate travel opening in Ridgecrest, CA. OT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As an OT, you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work in disabled, ill or injured patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As an OT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

  • Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
  • Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

The Work:

Here's what you need:

The CDL Truck Driver is a non-exempt position responsible for loading and hauling material to various job sites and assisting crews as needed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Load and haul to and from job sites, in accordance with DOT regulations, and in a safe manner.
  • Practice good, safe driving skills in all operating conditions, following all vehicular safety regulations.
  • Keep the truck clean and fueled daily.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit required paperwork.
  • Navigate to job sites and material sources in a timely manner.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
  • Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.

Experience and Requirements


  • CDL Class A license - Must have Tanker Endorsement.
  • The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of CDL truck experience.
  • Experience hauling bulk liquid.
  • Good driving record and insurable by vehicle insurance company.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to safely drive in and out of work areas, including backing up and driving forward.
  • Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards; Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations.
  • Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers and general laborers is critical, both verbally and nonverbally; this includes the ability to listen to the ideas of others.
  • Must have reliable transportation to be at work when scheduled and have the ability to travel.
    Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours are expected.
  • Must be able to adapt and adjust to changing situations and priorities with a positive attitude.
  • Must wear proper attire at all times including: safety vests, safety glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to safely and effectively complete work tasks.


Working Conditions


  • This job requires the ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs; bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat twist, and climb heavy equipment several times throughout the day, and balance at heights up to 6 feet from ground level.
