Job Overview: In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualized age-specific care to patients
Qualifications: Required:
- Has successfully completed a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for surgical technologists
OR - Holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization
Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable): - Current BLS required (American Heart Association)
- Successful completion of all Orientation and Departmental Programs with documentation
Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions): - Full-Time, Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
- 37.5 hours per week
Essential Functions: - Maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes.
- Ensure the patient's physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative.
- In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualized age-specific care to patients.
- Maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patients' physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.
- Anticipates the surgeon s instrumentation and equipment needs during a case; anticipates when a case deviates from the normal and is able to promote a smooth transition.
Complies with all risk reduction procedures to prevent a fire in the OR setting, including safety practices associated with Laser and electro-surgery.
