Baylor Scott & White Health McLane Children's Medical Center is conducting a national search for an experienced pediatric cardiologist with additional training in imaging including CT/MRI/ Transesophageal echo. The program is developing a robust pediatric cardiac surgical program. The successful candidate will have the chance to envision and support our developing heart center's future growth. The candidate must be a full-time BC/BE fellowship trained Pediatric Cardiologist to join our team of four Pediatric Cardiologists in Central Texas. Additional training in Imaging is preferred.

We provide comprehensive pediatric cardiac care including diagnosis and management of cardiac problems in the unborn child (fetus), neonatal cardiology and preventive cardiology. Cardiac studies, such as electrocardiography, echocardiography (trans-thoracic and fetal), stress testing, Holter and event monitor testing are offered by our staff.

Position Highlights

  • Appointment at the rank of clinical assistant, associate or professor of pediatrics with Baylor College of Medicine, Temple TX
  • Additional training in Imaging is preferred to help support the growth of our future heart center’s growth
  • Prefer strong experience in the management of cardiac postoperative patients, ICU/inpatient cardiology, and electrophysiology
  • Teach medical students, residents, sonographers and nurses
  • Perform, supervise and interpret electrocardiograms, Holters and trans-thoracic echocardiograms in approximately 7 hospitals located in and around central Texas area

About McLane Children's Medical Center

Our five-story McLane Children's Specialty Clinic is located next to our free-standing Children's Hospital in Temple, Texas. The hospital features include 112 patient beds, 48 private medical/surgical rooms, 16 private Pediatric ICU rooms and a 24-hour, level II pediatric emergency department and verified trauma center equipped to deal with the most serious pediatric trauma cases. A level IV, 48 bed Neonatal ICU is located nearby on the main BSWMC, Temple campus.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $361,000* (Board Eligible) $371,000* (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $451,420** (Board Eligible); $461,520** (Board Certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.

  • Installation & Commissioning: Oversee installation, commissioning, testing, and service turn‑up of optical transmission equipment.
  • DWDM Migrations: Perform DWDM link migrations in coordination with onsite technicians, including activities outside standard working hours when required.
  • EoL Platform Migration: Execute migration of services from platforms approaching end‑of‑life (EoL).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams on network expansion, optimization initiatives, and decommissioning of legacy equipment.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with external vendors to support successful delivery, installation, and commissioning of DWDM systems.
  • Logistics: Provide logistics coordination for equipment shipments between warehouses and deployment sites.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and high‑quality documentation across all relevant systems and tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in regular deployment and progress meetings with vendors and stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years' experience within a telecommunications company covering Plan, Build, and Operate functions.
  • DWDM Expertise: Proven experience working as a DWDM Network Engineer within a telecommunications environment.
  • OLS – Long Haul: Extensive configuration and troubleshooting experience with Infinera 7300, Infinera FlexILS, Nokia GX, Ciena 6500, and Ciena 6500 RLS.
  • OLS – Metro: Hands‑on experience with Infinera Groove G30, Nokia GX, and Ciena ELS.
  • Transponder Platforms: Experience with Ciena WL5e and WL6e (C‑band and L‑band), and Nokia CHM6 and CHM7 series (C‑band and L‑band variants).
  • Remote Support: Experience supporting remote installations of transponders and shelves together with onsite technicians; ability to guide onsite technicians remotely during installations and troubleshooting.
  • Fibre Infrastructure: Good understanding of fibre infrastructure, including cable routing and ODF connectivity within data centre environments.
  • Service Turn‑Up: Proven capability to commission and turn up DWDM services.
  • Spectrum Migration: Experience supporting spectrum migration activities.
  • Documentation Skills: Strong documentation skills, including maintaining network inventory systems.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate project status and progress to internal stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up‑to‑date knowledge of current transmission technologies and industry best practices.
