HCA Healthcare Pathology Services is recruiting for a Division Medical Director of Pathology Services for the North Texas Division which is comprised of 12 hospitals serving communities in greater Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.

This is a senior-level, executive position requiring extensive Medical Director experience preferable in practices with multiple locations. The Division Medical Director provides leadership and guidance for division initiatives within the pathology group. The position includes approximately 70% administrative and 30% anatomic/clinical sign-out responsibilities.

Qualified Candidates:

AP/CP Board Certification required

Minimum 5 years hospital-based Medical Director Experience required

Must have leadership experience in pathology departments at multiple hospitals; preferably overseeing several locations

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience leading a large group and mentoring new pathologists required

Experience overseeing centralized histology lab preferred

Texas licensed or ability to obtain

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages the facility medical directors and associate pathologists in the North Texas Division which includes scheduling oversight, performance monitoring, mentoring, coaching and quality review oversight

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Provide high-quality outpatient care for patients with asthma and allergic/immunologic conditions

  • Utilize onsite resources including full pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and comprehensive allergy testing
  • Participate in consult-only inpatient service (no primary admitting)

Research & Academic Focus

  • Develop and grow an asthma-focused clinical trials portfolio, with protected research time
  • Participate in industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated asthma research
