What You Will Do:

Key Qualifications:

What You'll Do
Intercompany Accounting:

  • Champion intercompany operational excellence: oversee proper application of and consistent compliance with intercompany accounting policy to maintain financial consistency and clarity
  • Analyze intercompany and consolidated results, provide variance analysis, and performance narratives
  • Lead the end-to-end intercompany accounting process related to Affirm standalone entities and across multiple Affirm entities: invoicing, reconciliations, settlements and compliance with state regulatory requirements
  • Optimize intercompany processes: ensure proper reconciliation, compliance with transfer pricing and regulatory requirements, and accurate settlement of intercompany transactions
Accounting For “Standalone” US Entities
  • Partner with Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to understand the reporting requirements that are needed for various regulators and ensure deliverables meet requirements
  • Own Affirm’s standalone entities accounting integrity: lead the allocation process and the proper elimination and consolidation
General
  • Execute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures during the monthly and quarterly close including departmental close packages, financial reporting reconciliations, support of financial reporting, analytics and efficiency metrics
  • Perform accounting and control procedures related to highly visible and complex accounting transactions, ensuring the accuracy of accounting entries and timely accounting close
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areas
  • Drive process improvement through automation initiatives: develop a plan, clearly communicate project goals, updates, resource needs and business outcomes
  • Proactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to achieve operational efficiency
  • Assist in designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures; and assist in internal control and process documentation
What We Look For
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Recent experience in general ledger accounting at an experienced Senior Accountant or Supervisor level with a public company responsible for multiple lines on the balance sheet
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, and ability to partner with the Technical Accounting team on accounting policy implementation and adherence
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (such as VLOOKUPS & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if-analysis)
  • Strong knowledge of end to end accounting processes and understanding of financial statement line items
  • Excellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills, and to work effectively in situations that involve ambiguity
  • Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with interest in prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • NetSuite experience is preferred
  • The desire to improve processes and make your own job easier over time, taking ownership of all aspects of your functional area

Base Pay Grade - I
Equity Grade - 5
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $115,000 - $155,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $102,000 - $142,000

Work Location & Hybrid Model
