Essential Functions

Department/Unit Summary

We have 12 OR procedure rooms. There are 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts depending on unit and need. Nurses use a self-scheduling process with a call rotation for weekdays and weekends. Weekend call is about 1 weekend every 6 weeks. Weekend and holiday rotations are mapped out by year. Call for a new OR nurse is typically 6 months out but may do some buddy call earlier.
