Job Purpose
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and disciplined execution of the daily production plan for thermal battery manufacturing. This role ensures build readiness, enforces work standards, maintains operator accountability, and proactively identifies constraints that may impact schedule, quantity, or revenue attainment. The supervisor ensures all operations follow approved instructions and never allows deviation. Performance directly impacts cost, schedule, and product flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Required Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Execute daily production plan and maintain KPI targets
Identify staffing gaps and adjust workflow or assignments in real time to prevent production misses
Verify all required materials including documentation are staged and available one week prior
Lead production meeting to identify obstacles and confirm build readiness
Participate in management meeting to review prior/current day performance and required mitigation actions
Maintain daily communication with production leads through floor presence and scheduled touchpoints
Walk the floor regularly; observe operator performance in real time and through post-shift reports
Provide immediate problem-solving support and maintain presence during shift changes
Enforce production work practices with zero repeat operator issues (training, cleanliness, culture, PPE)
Drive training of operators and track training requirements, including completion and follow-up dates
Monitor equipment functionality and initiate maintenance requests
Maintain organized tooling, materials, and 5S discipline with a score of 3 or higher
Conduct daily shift-handoff communication with other production supervisor(s)
Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, production leads, and master scheduler
Understand material flow, pellet verification, and upstream constraints to support schedule protection
Review safety procedures regularly and stop any unsafe or non-compliant operation
Assess staffing level and recommend adjustments
Preferred Qualifications:
