Job Duties

Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is composed of Adult and Pediatric Cardiothoracic surgery, Vascular surgery and Adult and Pediatric Cardiology.

The Cardiothoracic Surgery department provides clinical services at 3 sites, Danville, Wilkes Barre, and Scranton with dedicated 24 hour, 7 days a week Cardiac Anesthesia and ICU staff. Presently, the Cardiac and Thoracic surgeons and advanced providers perform the full breadth of Adult Cardiothoracic surgery. Standard and minimally invasive valvular operations and multiple arterial conduits are the standard for cardiac revascularization.

Geisinger has dedicated Heart Failure and Adult Congenital Heart disease programs throughout the system. The growing Mechanical Circulatory Support and Shock programs have energized our LVAD program which has achieved full independent (Name) certification. Our ECMO program is the largest in the region performing V-V and V-A ECMO cannulations throughout the system and recovered at Geisinger Medical Center. A multi-disciplinary Structural Heart Program performs TAVR and Mitra Clip implantation at all sites.

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) is the country’s first hospital to receive The Joint Commission/American Heart Association (AHA) Comprehensive Heart Attack Center Certification in August 2022.

The successful candidate will be based in Danville, and all surgeons may assist with coverage at other sites throughout the system, as necessary. Broad Cardiothoracic training and experience is required and an interest in minimally invasive, robotic, aortic or mechanical circulatory support is desired.

We're looking for Senior Software Engineers with expertise in Node.js and React to help build our next‑generation media products. This role is all about designing and building innovative products that deliver crypto news, insights, and experiences to millions of users, with a focus on user experience, modern engineering practices, and continuous iteration. You'll be working on products that distribute and personalize content, making CoinDesk a daily habit for crypto enthusiasts and investors. This includes building high‑performance and scalable backend systems and engaging web and mobile experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain back‑end services and React front‑end applications that power real‑time content delivery, monetization, and interactive features across web and mobile.
  • Build and integrate AI‑powered agentic workflows into our products and internal tooling, leveraging LLMs and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Work with product teams to improve SEO strategies, optimize page speed, and ensure best practices for web performance and indexing.

What You Have
